Luigi Santo –  Trumpet

Graduated in Trumpet at the Conservatory of Cosenza with Giuseppe Zanfini, his musical studies continue in Paris with Pierre Thibaud; afterwards he  gets specialized in the romantic repertory with the Russian Maestro Timofei Dokshitser.  With David Short he plays many chamber brass music concerts and recordings for RAI. Later he plays as soloist in Europe, USA and Asia.  He performed in “Ramsey Concert Hall” Georgia University of Athens, in “Rimskij-Korsakov Hall” of S. Petersburg, “Magnitogorsk State Theater” in Russia, “Segovia Hall” in Linares, “Espace Bernanos” in Paris. In 2006 played first italian performance of  Dmitrij Shostakovich Concerto N. 1 in Do minore  op. 35 for trumpet, piano and strings in the famous version by the great Russian Trumpeter Timofei Dokshitser; later in USA and Europe. In 2008 first italian performance of the Sonata for trumpet and piano of american composer Eric Ewazen. Held performances with knowned international musicians as Fred Mills, Scott Hartman, Mark Mc Connell, Mike Moore. Author of music for brass quintet published by Gerard Billaudot Editeur e Editions Marc Reift. He teaches Trumpet at the Conservatory of Matera.
